COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – How do I make a camping reservation? Who decides how many hunting licenses are issued? What does a wildlife officer do? What efforts are underway to re-introduce Black Footed Ferrets?

Join us for the first ever Colorado Parks and Wildlife Citizens Academy to find answers to these questions and more in our six-session Academy. Sessions are once a week for six weeks, Wednesdays, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Sept 16 to Oct 21. Classes are conducted at the CPW Southeast Region Office, 4255 Sinton Rd, Colorado Springs.

This course is designed to provide a broad, yet detailed, overview of Colorado outdoor recreation and conservation, directly from experts who manage those areas for the State of Colorado. Attendees will meet parks and wildlife officers, aquatics and terrestrial biologists, boating investigators, K9 handlers, and other members of our incredible team. Whether you visit state parks weekly or hunt and fish regularly, or if our organization is completely new to you, this course has something for everyone.

The mission of CPW is to perpetuate the wildlife resources of the state, to provide a quality state parks system, and to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations to serve as active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources. This broad mission impacts Coloradans and its visitors in many ways.
